Obverse description Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, her hair elaborately coifed and drawn back in the Antonine fashion. The empress is portrayed with characteristic imperial dignity, the drapery rendered in fine folds over the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend identifying her as Augusta frames the portrait. The flan is notably uneven, with surface wear obscuring finer detail consistent with heavy circulation.
