Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, his characteristic curly hair rendered in some detail. The paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder. A Greek legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded border, reading ΑΥ ΛΟΥ ΑΥΡ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΑΡΜ, identifying the emperor with his Armeniac title.
