| Reverse description | Full-length standing figure of Amphilochus, the legendary hero and founder of Mallus, depicted facing left in a slightly contrapposto stance, clad in a short chiton or draped garment, extending a branch in his right hand. At his feet to the lower left crouches a boar, an attribute closely associated with the hero's mythological identity and the city's foundation legend. The circular Greek legend naming the issuing city runs along the right field and periphery of the flan. The reverse type reflects the strong civic pride and mythological tradition cultivated by the city of Mallus under Roman provincial administration. |
