Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, with her characteristic elaborately waved and ridged coiffure arranged in horizontal bands and gathered at the nape of the neck, a distinctive hairstyle well attested on her imperial portraiture. The empress wears drapery over the shoulder, rendered in low relief. The Greek legend encircles the bust, identifying her as Augusta. The flan shows typical provincial fabric with an irregular edge and surface wear consistent with circulation.
