To the left of the figure stands a tree, likely representing the garden of the Hesperides, a reference to the eleventh labour of Heracles. The composition is a common type for Cotiaeum civic bronzes, rendered in the provincial Phrygian style. The reverse legend naming the local archon encircles the design. |
