Reverse description The hero Akmôn, eponymous founder of the city, depicted on horseback galloping to the right, his chlamys billowing dramatically behind him as he brandishes a whip. In the upper field, the Dindymos hill is represented with two Oreiad nymphs standing upon its summit. In the lower field, the river god Sindros reclines to the left at the base of the hill, rendered in the conventional personification style of Greco-Roman provincial coinage. The reverse legend ΑΚΜΟΝΕΩΝ in Greek characters arcs around the composition, identifying the issuing city.
