Obverse description Draped bust of Demos personified facing right, rendered with curly hair and civic drapery in the provincial Greek tradition. The effigy is depicted in a dignified, idealized manner befitting the personification of the citizen body. The Greek legend ΙΕΡΟϹ ΔΗΜΟϹ is distributed around the bust in the field. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges typical of provincially struck bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD.
