| Reverse description | Zeus Askraios depicted standing frontally, radiate, clad in a long chiton and himation in the local Carian iconographic tradition. A sacred tree surmounted by an oracular crow is shown on each side of the deity, referencing the oracular cult of Zeus Askraios at Halicarnassus. The composition is characteristic of Carian provincial bronzes, emphasizing the local religious significance of this syncretic Zeus cult. The ethnic legend of the issuing city encircles the reverse field. |
