| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the vigorous provincial style characteristic of Pontic civic coinage. The emperor's portrait displays a full beard and strong facial features consistent with his official iconography. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust within the field, running from lower left to upper right. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of provincial bronze issues of the Severan period. |
