| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Clodius Albinus as Caesar facing right, with short curly hair and beard rendered in the provincial style. The portrait is encircled by a beaded border. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the subject as Caesar. The workmanship reflects the competent civic coinage tradition of the Smyrnaean mint under the Severan dynasty. |
