| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, seen from the rear, presenting a three-quarter back view typical of provincial bronze issues of this period. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the characteristic Roman provincial style, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated atop the head. The obverse legend in Greek letters runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The overall execution reflects the local workshop tradition of the Conventus of Philomelium. |
