| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of the city's fortune, stands facing left in full figure at the centre of the field, robed in a long chiton and himation. She holds a rudder in her right hand, symbolising guidance and fate, and a cornucopia in her left, denoting abundance. The circular Greek legend surrounding the type records the name of the presiding magistrate and the civic ethnic of Apamea, reading ΕΠΙΜ Μ ΑΙ ΑΤΤΑΛΙΑΝ ΑΠΑΜΕ. The type follows standard Phrygian civic reverse iconography of the Severan era. |
