Reverse description Apollo Klarios, the tutelary deity of Colophon's famous oracle sanctuary, depicted seated left upon an omphalos or throne, holding a laurel branch in his extended right hand and a kithara (lyre) in his left. The figure is rendered in a classicising style befitting the god's cultic significance to the city. The Greek legend naming the strategos Aurelius Loukion and the ethnic of the Colophonians runs around the periphery of the flan.
