Reverse description An agonistic prize crown, depicted as a wreath surmounted by a large alpha (Α), rests upon a rectangular inscribed tablet or base bearing the legend of the issuing authority and the games. This reverse type commemorates the Chrysanthine games (Chrysanthina) celebrated at Sardis, a city holding the distinction of twice neocorate status. The multi-line Greek inscription is distributed around and within the central device, naming the presiding strategos Aurelius Herakleidianos.
