| Reverse description | Full-length figure of Athena advancing to the right, depicted in a dynamic martial posture with right arm raised and brandishing a spear overhead, and left arm extended bearing a large round shield. The goddess is clad in a long peplos with aegis, consistent with the Athena Promachos type widely employed on Thessalian provincial coinage. The legend ΚΟΙΝΟΝ ΘΕϹϹΑΛωΝ is distributed around the field, identifying the issuing authority. The surfaces show a dark brown patina characteristic of struck bronze provincials of the Antonine period. |
