Reverse description The Emperor Hadrian, depicted in toga capite velato (head veiled in the Roman sacrificial manner), stands facing with head turned to the left, holding a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left hand. To the left of the figure stands a flaming altar, serving as the focal point of the sacrificial scene. The composition reflects standard Alexandrian reverse types evoking imperial piety. The regnal year inscription appears in the field, marking this issue to the fifteenth year of Hadrian's reign.
