| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from behind in the three-quarter rear view characteristic of some provincial issues. The radiate crown is rendered with pointed rays projecting from the head, and the paludamentum and cuirass are visible at the truncation.
