| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed three-quarter from the rear, with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial workshop style of Heraclea Pontica, with carefully detailed armor and drapery folds visible below the bust truncation. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor by his full titulature, distributed around the obverse field. |
