| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Ephesian conventus, with the radiate laurel wreath clearly defined despite surface wear. The circumferential Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan, partially legible due to the coin's irregular striking. |
