| Obverse description | Bare-headed, youthful bust of Demos facing right, the effigy adorned with a diadem, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Asia Minor civic coinage. The portrait conveys an idealized, almost divine quality befitting the personification of the Sacred People. The circular Greek legend is disposed around the bust in the field. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hammered provincial bronzes of the mid-third century. |
