Reverse description Athena seated to the left upon a throne, holding a Nike in her extended right hand and a wreath (tentative) in the other; a large round shield stands upright behind her to the left. The figure is rendered in the conventional provincial Roman style, with drapery falling over the seated form. A Greek civic legend reading the full neocorate title of Laodicea, issued by senatorial decree, encircles the type within a dotted border visible along the lower rim.
