Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, depicted in three-quarter frontal view, with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic coinage of the early third century AD. The obverse legend encircles the bust, partially obscured by wear and a pierced hole at the top of the flan. The coin exhibits a heavily corroded and irregular flan with a section missing at the lower left.
