| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, with characteristically long and broad beard rendered in fine detail. The portrait displays the emperor's distinctive physiognomy with well-modelled features typical of Commodan provincial coinage. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust, reading Α Κ Μ ΑΥΡ Κο ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝοϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature in the Greek idiom standard for Phrygian civic bronzes. |
