| Reverse description | Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted standing facing, his head turned to the left, clad in long draped robes. He holds in his left hand the knotted serpent-entwined staff (the caduceus of Asclepius), with a serpent coiling around it and visible at the base. The encircling Greek legend names the strategos and the civic ethnonym of Hyrcanis, following standard Lydian provincial convention. The flan is irregular, as typical of provincial bronze issues of this period. |
