The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ (of the Nicaeans) is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea in Bithynia. The composition reflects the Hellenistic artistic tradition prevalent in provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor. |
