| Reverse description | Bust of Dionysus facing right, depicted as horned and draped, wearing a tall kalathos adorned with an ivy wreath. The god holds a cantharus in one hand and a flowering stem in the other, consistent with standard Dionysiac iconography on provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor. The reverse legend ϹΚΗΨΙΩΝ ΔΑΡΔΑ, inscribed in the field around the bust, identifies the issuing civic authority as the Dardanian Scepsians. The design reflects the close association of the city of Scepsis with Dionysiac cult traditions. |
