Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, depicted with her characteristic elaborate coiffure of waved and ridged hair. The empress is portrayed with drapery visible at the shoulder, rendered in the Severan court style. The Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, naming her as Augusta. The flan is irregular and the surfaces heavily patinated, with the portrait retaining sufficient relief to confirm the identification.
