Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed three-quarter from the rear, with the folds of the paludamentum clearly visible over the left shoulder and the scaled cuirass rendered in relief. The emperor's characteristic curly hair is surmounted by a laurel wreath. The circular Greek legend runs along the outer border of the field.
