Obverse description Draped bust of the youthful personification of the Roman Senate facing left, rendered in typical provincial style with curling hair and drapery visible at the shoulder. The effigy is depicted without diadem or wreath, consistent with the iconographic convention for the Senate on civic coinage of Asia Minor. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field. The rho in the legend is rendered in the distinctive Þ-shaped form characteristic of certain Lydian mint engravers of this period.
