| Reverse description | Tetrastyle temple depicted in elevation, with four columns supporting an entablature and pediment, enclosing a veiled cult statue of Hestia standing to the right and apparently holding a sceptre over her left shoulder. The architectural rendering is characteristic of civic pride coinage issued by Lydian cities under Roman provincial administration. The surrounding legend names the issuing magistrate and civic authority of the Maeonians. The composition reflects the common provincial practice of celebrating local cult temples on civic bronze coinage. |
