Obverse description Draped bust of Sabinia Tranquillina Augusta facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound with a diadem, rendered in the provincial style typical of Cilician civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The portrait displays characteristic features of Tranquillina, consort of Gordian III, with a small countermark visible on the obverse field. The encircling Greek legend identifies the empress by her full honorific titulature.
