Obverse description Draped bust of the Senate personified facing right, depicted as a mature male figure with curly hair and bare neck, rendered in the provincial Greek style. The legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ (Sacred Senate) is inscribed around the bust in Greek characters. The portrait is modelled in medium relief, characteristic of Phrygian civic bronze coinage of the Trajanic period.

The composition reflects the goddess's agricultural and chthonic attributes. The ethnic legend ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ is inscribed around the field in Greek characters, identifying the issuing civic authority of Hierapolis in Phrygia.
