Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter perspective typical of mid-third century provincial coinage. The emperor's paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, and a round shield (or boss) is rendered prominently at centre. The encircling Greek legend is disposed around the bust within a beaded border.
