Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, a common provincial die convention emphasizing the military paludamentum and cuirass. The effigy exhibits the characteristic full beard and robust portraiture associated with Severan coinage. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is irregular in outline, typical of provincial bronze production of the Severan period.
