Obverse description Jugate busts of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna facing right, seen from the rear, with Severus depicted laureate, draped, and cuirassed in the foreground, and Julia Domna draped behind him. The imperial pair are rendered in the provincial style typical of the Arabian mint at Bostra, with the legend surrounding the effigies in Greek characters identifying both rulers. The composition reflects the dynastic imagery promoted by the Severan house throughout the eastern provinces.
