| Obverse description | Draped bust of the empress Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed in the characteristic Severan style with waves swept back and gathered at the nape. The effigy is rendered in typical provincial Greek die-cutting style of the Ionian conventus. The encircling Greek legend identifies the empress with her imperial title. |
