Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynian coinage. The emperor's characteristic full beard and strong facial features are depicted with moderate relief. The circular Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan, partially visible despite surface wear. The portrait occupies the central field with the neck truncation at the lower portion of the die.
