(Translation: Emperor Caesar Lucius Septimius Severus Pertinax)
Reverse description Zeus Lydios depicted standing left in full figure, his weight resting on a long sceptre held in his left hand, while his right hand extends forward presenting an eagle. The deity is rendered in the classical provincial style typical of Mysian civic coinage of the Severan era. A Greek legend naming the local strategos and the ethnic of the Attaleteans runs around the periphery of the field. The reverse type reflects the civic pride of Attalea and its veneration of Zeus Lydios as a principal deity.
