Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Septimius Severus facing right, portrayed from behind in the so-called rear-view convention typical of provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor. The imperial effigy is rendered with paludamentum draped over the left shoulder, the cuirass visible beneath, and a radiate laurel wreath crowning the head. The surrounding field is enclosed by a beaded border. The obverse legend runs around the periphery in Greek characters identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature.
