Reverse description A tetrastyle temple with a central arched bay is depicted in three-quarter perspective, its pediment surmounted by a small animal figure, possibly an eagle or lion. Within the arch stands a cult statue of Zeus Kataibates, shown semi-nude, holding an attribute in the raised right hand with a thunderbolt or sceptre, the deity associated with lightning descent venerated at Cyrrhus. Four columns with decorated capitals frame the composition on either side. The Greek legend ΔΙΟC ΚΑΤEΒΑΤΟΥ surrounds the upper field, while ΚΥΡΗCΤΩΝ appears in the exergue below the temple podium, identifying the civic cult and the issuing city of Cyrrhus.
