| Reverse description | A carpentum — an ornate, domed ceremonial two-wheeled vehicle — is depicted in right-facing profile, drawn by a pair of horses at full stride. The vehicle's arched canopy and decorated body are rendered in detail characteristic of provincial Ephesian engraving. The encircling Greek legend proclaims the triple neocorate dignity of Ephesus, with the terminal word ΕΦΕϹΙΩΝ visible in the lower exergual area of the field. |
