Obverse description Confronted busts of co-rulers Maximinus I and Maximus, facing one another: Maximinus, laureate, draped and cuirassed, to the right, and Maximus, bare-headed, draped and cuirassed, to the left. The obverse legend is divided between the two figures, naming both the emperor and his caesar. The portrait style is typical of provincial Syrian bronze coinage of the Severan era.
