Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, portrayed with characteristic beard and naturalistic features typical of Antonine imperial portraiture. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and segmented cuirass, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The Greek legend is disposed around the field in a circular arrangement, beginning at the upper left. The flan shows an irregular edge with a characteristic olive-green patina.
