Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The emperor's hair and beard are rendered in moderate relief, consistent with portraiture from his reign. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, partially legible due to wear, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡΗ[ΛΙΟϹ] ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full titulature as Imperator Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus.
