Obverse description Draped bust of Crispina facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The empress is depicted with her hair arranged in the elaborate coiffure typical of the Antonine period. The surrounding Greek legend, partially preserved, identifies her as Augusta and wife of Emperor Commodus. The flan is irregular and the surfaces heavily encrusted with green and brown patina, obscuring finer details of the portrait.
