Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and articulated lorica details on the cuirass. The imperial effigy is boldly modelled in high relief, conveying the military character of the emperor. A continuous Greek legend encircles the bust, running from upper left to lower right around the periphery of the flan.
