| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Diadumenian as Caesar facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front, with youthful features and paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The circumferential Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the prince by his full titulature. The portrait is executed in the provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic issues under the Severan dynasty, with a boldly modelled face and softly rendered drapery. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered bronze issues from this mint. |
