Reverse description A symmetrical divine group composition featuring Hygieia standing facing at left, head turned right, extending her right hand to feed a serpent coiled about her arm; at right, Asclepius standing facing, head turned left, his right hand resting upon his serpent-entwined staff. Between the two deities stands a lighted altar, emphasizing the cultic and healing significance of the scene. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, names the issuing city of Came and records the strategos Tryphon in his second term of office. The composition reflects the strong association of Lydian civic coinage with healing deities during the Antonine period.
