Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, viewed from the rear, rendered in the youthful imperial portrait style characteristic of his reign. The paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder, and the cuirass is depicted with fine detail at the chest.
