Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of the emperor Gordian III facing right, presented in three-quarter rear view, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass rendered in relief. The imperial effigy is portrayed in the conventional provincial style of the Pergamene conventus, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated around the head. The circular Greek legend runs along the outer border of the coin.
